BioBanner is the World’s first truly environmentally friendly PVC sign material. This biodegradable sign material provides the tear-and-fade-resistant properties of a conventional PVC vinyl substrate with the ability to withstand various weather conditions, but that is where the similarities end. Normal PVC material will sit in landfills for hundreds of years before it will begin to breakdown. However, BioBanner is based on the latest technology using highly pure PVC resin. When exposed to landfill conditions such as darkness, high heat, moisture and lack of oxygen, microbes ingest this special coating - breaking down the BioBanner material into a non-toxic sodium powder. The material completely disintegrates within 3-5 years.
BioBanner is more then just a biodegradable vinyl. Every step in the production of the material is eco-friendly - from the testing and manufacturing process to packaging. BioBanner has gone through many rigorous testing phases to ensure the product is durable, flame resistant and most importantly non-toxic. In fact, an independent study found that adding BioBanner to a landfill releases no toxic byproducts and actually increase the biodegradable activity of the landfill. Overall, more then 80% of the content of BioBanner is derived from sources other then petroleum – sources like limestone particles and vegetable oil. In addition, all materials used in the packaging are made from recycled materials or are completely recyclable as low density polyethylene.
